Band 6 – Client & Technology Services, Business Systems Senior Analyst, Production Support

Position Summary

This person will manage staff and applications supporting our U.S. business partners. This particular position will focus on supporting our group division’s strategic administration platform called QPS. This includes managing bugs, enhancements, major incident response, access requests, audit inquiries, disaster recovery efforts, and release management. As part of a well-established budget program, this person will manage resources according to business strategy. This person maintains key relationships, partnering with Development, QA, Business Architects, Program Managers, Project Teams, & Infrastructure Teams. As an application subject matter expect, this person will be the liaison between the user community & IT.

Position Responsibilities

Manages business priorities and release schedules Identifies, evaluates, & validates issues, appropriately escalating to management Manages major incident resolution & root cause review Develops workarounds as permanent solutions or short-term fixes Manages intake queues and monitors system activities Develops and maintains all support documentation Mentors junior team members and assigns workload Facilitates the knowledge transfer for user community Maintains a high degree of business functional knowledge & current technologies Provides information to satisfy requests from Audit & Compliance Participates in Disaster Recovery events Looks for ways to improve service levels and reduce operational costs due to system processes

Skill Requirements

  • Requires BS/BA degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of progressive experience in an business analyst role, or 5+ years working in a business role using web, mainframe, or client server applications

  • Working knowledge of QPS a plus

  • Must have strong customer service, analytical, & problem-solving skills

  • Communicates effectively to both technical & non-technical stakeholders

  • Must be able to manage competing priorities simultaneously

  • Must be able to work independently & apply analytical skills to drive issue identification, escalation, resolution & closure

  • Ability to be flexible & participate in an on-call rotation program to support critical applications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL & XML a plus
