The position will report to the On-site Charles River Project Manager or Operation Specialist and will assist with the Pharmacology and Discovery research. The individual may be responsible for dosing for the Oncology, Infectious Disease and Safety Pharmacology groups within the client departments. The individual will perform body weight measurements, IBD and EAE scoring, tumor measurements and behavioral monitoring, as well as sample collections at the termination of studies. Data entry and analysis will be required and the individual will communicate study results to the principal investigator on the study. The individual will be required to maintain a notebook that fully describes the study design and results obtained from the study. The individual will contribute to and participate in the facility animal health care program, as well as peri and post-procedure animal care. The Research Support Technician will communicate directly with the research staff and will maintain performance levels consistent with and according to client professional standards and requirements.
Education: Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Animal Science preferred or Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent college level program.
Experience: Minimum of two year related animal care and handling as well as extensive animal dosing experience is required. One year of technical experience as detailed in the essential duties and responsibilities section preferred
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Certification/Licensure: AALAS certification at the LAT level is preferred. Veterinary Technician licensure of CVT or LVT is preferred.

Performs technical tasks in the conduct of in vivo research studies or support services in accordance with good animal welfare practices. Prepares, collects and records research data and specimens in compliance with applicable regulations and SOPs.
