Partner and consult with key leaders in various business groups to identify and develop solutions to improve the performance, skills and knowledge of employees. Conduct needs analyses to discern and understand the disparity between current and required knowledge to achieve desired business results. Design, develop and implement multi-phased leadership development strategies that are aligned with company goals and support the business objectives and culture. Deliver training programs.


  • Has wide-ranging experience and uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters for the Center for Leadership and Professional Development.

  • Develops and delivers training / development programs to support various initiatives to improve business performance, organizational capability and the work environment, while ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements and guidelines. This process includes, but is not limited to:

  • Conducting in-depth research and consulting with executives, managers and supervisors regarding the needs of their staff for training and development programs.

  • Identifying the various strategic and operational training/development needs and issues of the organization; working with management to establish responsive training and development strategies and plans.

  • Developing and delivering training and instructional programs based on established plans, and encompassing a wide range of technical, operational and/or management skill areas.

  • Developing training curricula, formulating and reviewing training outlines, and determining appropriate instructional methodologies and formats.

  • Evaluating and recommending incorporation of vendor programs, as appropriate to meet overall training goals and objectives.

  • Overseeing and coordinating the development and preparation of teaching and visual aids, instructional materials, tutorials, and reference materials appropriate to specific program objectives.

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizing relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods ensuring identified solutions are in alignment with goals, policies and procedures.

  • Tracking, monitoring and analyzing results of implemented programs to facilitate auditing of the programs as well as identify further individual needs.

  • Participates in cross-functional teams. Provide expertise, recommendations and updates from a learning and development perspective.

  • Promotes and markets the services of the Leadership & Professional Development Dept. to support business objectives.

  • Researches and determines best business practices to meet the goals and objectives of the business utilizing available operational and financial systems and company resources.

  • Provides assistance to other staff with complex tasks that require considerable judgment and initiative.

  • May escalate difficult/complex issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.

  • Assist with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred


  • 8 – 12 years’ related experience; or a Master’s degree with 6 years’ experience;

  • SHRM Certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP) is desirable, or a plus.

  • Strong background within education, training or organization development required.

  • Effectively build relationships with senior leadership as well as educational institutions, vendors, professional and community organizations, etc.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness as a performance consultant and/or training and development specialist

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to provide strategic and tactical project updates to stakeholders, partners, customers and senior leadership

  • Proven experience working with customers and commitment to servicing their needs with timely excellence.

  • Ability to exercise judgement in selecting methods and techniques for attaining results

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and stakeholders and manage changes/changing priorities.

  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.

  • A persistent problem solver who can work with others to identify approaches and solutions and make them happen.
