Randstad Sourceright is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, for a 6-9 month Contract, based in Stow, MA.
As part of the new product development team, you will work with other mechanical engineers and an inter-disciplinary amplifier development team to create and evaluate new mechanical parts for automotive audio amplifiers. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of development issues and will ensure technical quality and timeliness of development activities and part deliverables.
Develop solutions to complex problems requiring regular use of ingenuity, creativity, and technical expertise. Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration skills by proactively working with other members of the engineering staff to coordinate cross functional activities and demonstrate an aptitude for managing risk by identifying risks, developing and leading mitigation plans.
Ensure design excellence by confirming compliance to the mechanical engineering design process and documented best practices and will support the maintenance and enhancement of those practices.
Design parts for high-volume production, ease of assembly, and cost.
Demonstrate excellent customer management skills and interface with internal and external customer to evaluate, communicate, and negotiate technical information, including delivering comprehensive design reviews.
Perform thermal, strain, and other measurements on prototype parts to prove out design choices.
Create complex parts and assemblies in NX and work with internal and external resources on detailed part design and drawing creation.
Provide problem identification and solution support from the concept stage of a new product through production manufacturing.

The minimum skills you should have:
5+ years new product development experience
Excellent organizational, decision making, and communication skills
Prior experience with the following: Finite Element Analysis, structural analysis, electronics packaging and cooling, design for thermal/shock/vibration, die-casting, metal-stamping, injection-molding, PCB packaging, DFM, DFMEA
Knowledge of solid modeling, UG NX strongly preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills
Background in Automotive new product development desirable
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline gained through a formal four-to-five year college program.
