Job Description

The Sales Representative position is responsible for increasing product sales and knowledge at assigned accounts through Training and Brand Advocacy, Assisted Sales, and Visual Presence through store visits, relationship building, and conducting sales events in national retail chains.

The qualified individual must possess a strong passion for success, an abundance of energy and be committed to delivering superior service and performance for our clients. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, goal oriented and a team player excited to learn and grow as a member of the MarketSource team. Additionally, the candidate must be able to comfortably explain appliance benefits and technology, be able to educate consumers and sales associates, and make product recommendations. Sales Representatives must be able to make quality sales training presentations to associates for increased recommendation rates and demonstrations to consumers for increased sales event results, in addition to accurate execution of visual presence objectives as directed by our clients.

Essential Functions :

  • Expected to consistently attain or exceed monthly quotas for visits and sales performance

  • Gains and maintains a sound knowledge of specific client products

  • Professionally represents MarketSource and it clients at all times

  • Builds relationships with assigned retail location personnel, including local and district-level management

  • Performing in-store or off-site product training sessions for retail sales staff

  • Performing in-store product demonstrations at assigned events.

  • Responding to store customers and in-store sales staff questions regarding client specific products

  • Providing superior customer service (retail sales experience a plus)

  • Gaining and maintaining a sound knowledge of specific client products

  • Maintains visual presence standards for client products, which may include ordering parts, cleaning product, installation of minor hardware, repositioning product, or other maintenance as required

Supervisory or Management Responsibility/Decision Making Level :

  • This role typically does not have any supervisory or management responsibility

  • Must possess the ability to work with a high level of autonomy, a self- motivated individual with a strong work ethic who can excel with limited supervision and/or instruction

Minimum Education and/or Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, or other related business field, or equivalent sales and marketing experience required

  • 1-3 years of retail sales experience, with appliance sales experience preferred

  • Requisite Abilities and/or Skills :

  • Availability to work a non-standard work schedule, including weekends, weekdays, or nights

  • Strong work ethics, personal integrity and character, positive attitude, enthusiasm, competitive drive, and self-motivation

  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others

  • Outstanding communications and presentation skills

  • Aptitude for learning new technology

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Positive, flexible and focused, with an emphasis on a can do, hands on approach and philosophy

  • Ability to operate independently and proactively, prioritize, multi-task, and manage time effectively

  • Intense desire to improve professionally-minimally by successfully taking and passing two (2) LMS OneSource courses per year

  • Maturity, drive, and discipline to set individual schedule and take control of activities that will ultimately drive extraordinary, successful results

  • Able to analyze and interpret reports to develop work activities plan

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

  • Additional Job Requirements :

  • Requires bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing and moving items, all of which may be heavy

  • Adaptable to fast-paced environment

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must have reliable Internet Access

  • Performs additional job duties as assigned

  • Must be using a web enabled device (smartphone or tablet) with current iOS or Android with an active data plan

  • Valid driver’s license is required.
