Permanent position: Mechanical Engineer needed in the southeast of Boston Massachusetts! Our client is seeking a 4+ year Mechanical Engineer with some expertise in the medical industry to participate in the mechanical design and development of various medical devices. Candidate will have a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering along with 4+ years of product design/development experience using Solid Works. Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer

• Participate in the mechanical design and development of various medical devices

• Generate solid models, drawings and specifications

• Prepare and execute characterization and environmental tests to verify the design and performance of the devices

• Interface with vendors for critical component selection and tool qualification

• Define and develop processes related to the design, analysis, test, manufacture, quality and productivity

Requirements for the Mechanical Design Engineer

• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering along with 4 years of product design/development experience

• Experience with solid modeling software with Solid Works (medical device industry is pref)

• A working understanding of FDA QSR and ISO-13485 principles and demonstrated skill in integrating these into the engineering discipline

• Experience in the design and development of implantable medical device is highly desired

• Functions efficiently as both a team member and independently with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while demonstrating solid verbal communication and written skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office a must
