Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
High school graduate or equivalent, preferably with some general business training/education beyond high school (may count toward experience). Excellent administrative and computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications, databases, e-mail, and the Internet. Familiarity with a variety of office equipment (telephone, fax, copy/multi-function machines). Polished professional demeanor, excellent oral and written communication skills, and outstanding customer service skills are essential.
College background and at least two years of related work experience preferred; ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment; detail oriented, self-motivated and highly organized; ability to take initiative. Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, handle confidential material with discretion, and deal diplomatically with faculty, staff, and the public.

This position serves as front desk Operations Coordinator performing a variety of administrative, operational, and support duties. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: initial point of contact for all inquiries, answering telephones and departmental e-mail; processing incoming and outgoing mail; purchasing office supplies; handling HMS-related financial administration of vendor payments, purchasing cards, and employee reimbursements; scheduling meetings, booking travel, and event-planning; liaising with other university departments to oversee telecommunications, IT, and maintenance of physical space; assisting in management of calendars for HMS OTD Directors; occasional outreach to companies; and various special projects and other duties as required to ensure the smooth functioning of the department. From time to time, may substitute as assistant to OTD’s Chief Technology Development Officer when he is working from the HMS office, drafting executive-level communication, coordinating events, managing scheduling, etc.
