  • Bachelor's degree

  • Three years of work experience in higher education, marketing or business.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Computer software and hardware knowledge of and proficiency in XHTML, CSS, web standards including accessibility and usability, content management systems (particularly Drupal), Photoshop, Adobe, MS Office, Canvas; Banner, Salesforce CRM, Open Scholar; social media channels and other digital tools

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, work independently, collaborate with larger teams

  • Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills, analytical and technical skills, project and management skills

  • Digital marketing, graphic design, or programming experience preferred.

The Division of Continuing Education (DCE) comprises several entities including the Harvard Extension School, the Harvard Summer School, the Harvard Professional Development Programs and the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement. For more than a century, Harvard Extension School has made Harvard faculty and teaching accessible to a diverse community of local, national, and international students. Harvard Extension School enrolls approximately 13,000 students per year in approximately 65 liberal arts and professional fields. More than 650 open enrollments online and classroom courses are offered at affordable prices to our communities across the world. Harvard Summer School offers approximately 300 courses on the Harvard Campus to 6,000 secondary school, college and adult learners and more than 30 international study abroad programs for up to 600 students each summer. The Division also includes the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement with approximately 550 active members and Harvard Professional Development Programs offering about 60 two-day, noncredit courses annually.

Reporting to the Director of Admissions at Harvard Extension School, Division of Continuing Education, the Admission Pathways Specialist is responsible for facilitating the application process for current Harvard Extension School students with an interest in the undergraduate or graduate degree program.

This action-oriented, versatile, and resourceful person will use creative and innovative thinking to:

  • Design customized Salesforce journeys to help students avoid potential barriers to admission.

  • Write high-quality, effective content for these journeys and related prospective applicant outreach.

  • Establish, implement, and maintain processes, guidelines, and calendars to ensure content remains up-to-date, is continually refreshed, and regularly scheduled.

  • Work with various DCE staff to evaluate content performance to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Monitor internal and external trends to drive communication initiatives.

  • Contribute to DCE’s social media initiatives by suggesting content to reach and engage prospective applicants.

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Admissions Office informational videos and other asynchronous communications between Admissions Advisors and students.

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Admissions Advisors’ virtual drop-in office hours and other synchronous communications between Admissions Advisors and students.

  • Coordinate and manage the online component of programs’ admission materials.

  • Ensure consistency and excellence by documenting and enforcing best practices in the job.

  • Other duties assigned as needed.
