Senior Consultants work with clients involved in a wide range of energy-related activities, particularly in the areas of Smart Grid, electricity generation, transmission, distribution, alternative fuel transportation, energy storage, and renewables. Senior Consultants assist leading energy-related organizations (including utilities, energy companies, government organizations and equipment suppliers) in creating innovation and exploiting technology across the full spectrum of their activities, from setting strategy to developing and deploying cutting-edge products and applications.

The Energy Senior Consultant may be responsible for:

  • Managing components of projects and supervising others in daily tasks

  • Conducting and leading others in detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on energy-related technologies

  • Assessing technologies and analyzing technology trends

  • Performing and reviewing statistical and economic analyses; technology performance modeling; data collection; spreadsheet creation and management

  • Developing technology deployment and commercialization strategies for utilities, government, energy companies, and equipment suppliers

  • Interviewing business managers, technology experts and public policy officials to support client projects

  • Supporting the design and implementation of technology management processes

  • Contributing to evaluations of new energy technologies and programs

  • Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through technical reports and presentations

  • Graduating with a Masters degree in Engineering, Economics, or Data Sciences in May/June 2018

  • Demonstrated interest or proficiency in areas such as energy efficiency, demand response, energy storage, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and electric transmission and distribution

  • Outstanding research, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; superior interpersonal skills

  • High degree of self-confidence and determination

  • Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software

  • Experience developing and using analytical models and simulation software

  • Highly developed organization and time management skills

  • Ability to travel and work overtime hours as needed

  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

  • Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work

  • Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location

  • Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data

  • Generally works in an office environment
