POSITION SUMMARY

This position will support the MassMutual Direct to Consumer (DTC) Retiree Middle Market (RMM) team. The DTC team overall is responsible for business and model exploration, refinement and evolution. We seek to do this in a high caliber team. We are a flat, cohesive organization exploring and experimenting multiple ideas/pilots and scaling existing businesses at any given time. Culturally, we look for individuals that challenge each other openly, regardless of level or role on the team and focus on data-driven analysis and act on insight for decision making and continuous improvement.

The Distribution Lead is expected to understand the business goals of RMM and how they tie to DTC and the broader organization of MassMutual. The candidate will work closely with customers, industry partners and agencies, and our internal leadership team to meet our strategic and financial goals. The candidate is responsible for our go-to-market distribution strategy identifying opportunities to best position our products for the ideal customer. This leader, in collaboration with business partners, will design, coordinate, and manage an omni-channel approach to the market including digital, telesales, and agent-led operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for developing distribution strategy in line with product roadmap and customer needs.

  • Monitor distributor performance according to contract terms and modifying based on results achieved.

  • Stay abreast of competitive market landscape sharing learnings with team through competitive analysis to support distribution model.

  • Responsible for ongoing oversight of RMM’s existing distribution model and recommending and implementing improvements for the customer and our business.

  • Lead MassMutual as a differentiating leader in the direct to consumer channel with a focus on the customer aligned to MassMutual’s purpose.

  • Ensure distribution partners are focused on customer engagement and retention with the right product placement.

  • Must be fluent in financial levers to drive profitable results.

  • Collaboration with key business partners including MassMutual Product, Underwriting, Compliance and Law, and Service.

  • Lead and coach high performing team to deliver results with exceptional outcomes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Understanding of insurance/healthcare industry.

  • Successful track record of distribution management and results.

  • Versatile, flexible, and displays a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm, commitment to excellence, and high standards.

  • Exhibits highest level of communication acumen, necessary to interface, provide context and solicit information at all levels the company, and in interactions with partners outside of MassMutual.

  • Demonstrated ability to foster an environment that motivates, inspires and engages.

  • Able to function effectively in a dedicated team based environment.

  • 10 years of related experience.

  • College degree.
