Corporate Valuation and Advisory Services (VP)

The Corporate Advisory & Valuation Services group within Corporate Finance is responsible for (1) performing business and asset valuations, (2) corporate development activities, (3) the impairment testing of goodwill and long-lived assets, and (4) the oversight of certain regulatory mandates. The team is looking for an analyst who will be able to assist and lead on various long-term and short fuse projects. The candidate is expected to have experience with and knowledge of business enterprise and asset valuation methodologies, strong financial model experience, and a self-starter with strong project management skills to meet tight deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform business valuations using discounted cash flow and market multiple methods
• Test intangible assets and goodwill for impairment
• Assist with purchase price allocations stemming from mergers and acquisitions, including speaking to senior management about potential impacts to proposed deal structures
• Perform valuations of contingent considerations
• Perform valuations of other various balance sheet items
• Develop and maintain relationships with finance and accounting professionals throughout the corporation (domestic and international)

Education and Professional Credentials:

• Completion of, or work towards CFA and/or Masters (in accounting, finance, or economics)
• 5+ years of direct work experience, preferably in financial services and/or a consulting/audit role

Experience

• Financial modeling (e.g., cash flow modeling)
• ASC 805 / SFAS 141 (business combinations)
• ASC 350 & 360 / SFAS 142 (goodwill and intangible assets)
• Consulting experience within a transaction advisory or business valuation group

Skills:

• Very strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative
