Job summary

Become part of our agile practice on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). The Red Hat Products and Technologies (PnT) team is looking for an experienced Agile Practitioner to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you will work closely with the best engineers in the open source community to create innovative technology for the next generation. You’ll serve as a coach and champion of agile principles in the organization, facilitating the transition to agile development.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as a scrum master or kanban coach for multiple, distributed teams with a focus on coaching the teams on agile values and practices and encouraging them to continuously improve

  • Assist teams and product managers or product owners with user story development and backlog grooming, including identifying unaccounted work

  • Facilitate all team ceremonies like release planning, sprint planning, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, and stand-up

  • Track iteration status and resolve stalled or blocked user stories as needed

  • Develop metrics to measure and help improve team effectiveness, including dashboard reporting

  • Contribute to roadmap planning for our offerings, project scheduling, and release management

  • Introduce new ideas and processes which will improve performance and productivity

  • Facilitate cross-team coordination through reaching out to the larger organization for impediment removal

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant education and experience

  • Excellent facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to inspire change at all levels

  • Solid agile systems development life cycle (SDLC) experience with 3+ years of scrum software development or kanban experience

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or equivalent; Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) certification or equivalent is a plus

  • Demonstrated record of delivering multiple software offerings to production using agile methodologies

  • Data-driven analysis skills for measuring and managing delivery

  • Comfortable operating in rapidly changing environments

  • Good communication skills

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience working in and leading teams that apply test-driven development and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD)

  • Experience with Jira, Trello, or open source agile life cycle management tooling like Taiga

  • Knowledge of Red Hat’s offerings, the Linux operating system, open source software development, and application container technology
