South Shore Bank Retail Manager/Retail Officer in Weymouth, Massachusetts

SUMMARY

Manage a branch through and with the assistance of subordinate supervisors. Insure the security of the office by following regulatory and safety guidelines. Oversees all branch balancing and audit procedures. Maintain community involvement to promote goodwill and generate new business for the bank.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Remain aware of the Bank's goals and objectives and makes appropriate recommendations from their observations

  • Motivate staff to achieve sales goals for branches.

  • Ensure sales goals are met/exceed for own branch.

  • Responsible for deposit base growth in accordance with sales goals established for specific branch.

  • Interviews and recommends applicants for new hires

  • Makes recommendation to Senior Management concerning termination of Branch Staff employees

  • Able to execute independent critical business decisions

  • Coach/mentor/motive employees on Performance Improvement Plans.

  • Completes Branch monthly audit reports.

  • Maintain consistent and up-to-date information on banking issues and policies, improving them as necessary, inclusive of training subordinates.

  • Review AM logs and procedures for accuracy and consistency

  • Conduct weekly security/safety/transactional/updates of Branch.

  • Complete monthly budget response reports.

  • Involvement in, as a board member, of community and civic organizations as well as regular participation in local and bank sponsored charity events to promote the goodwill and generate new business for the bank.

  • Assist customer needs with new accounts, problems or clarification of bank materials including deposit and lending services.

  • Responsible for staffing needs

  • Enrolls in and supports continuing education and industry classes for themselves and subordinates.

  • Enforce the adherence of rules and regulations of their staff.

  • Perform annual employee performance appraisals.

  • Responsible and available for after hour alarm conditions & contact list

  • Review weekly branch attendance records.

  • Responsible for developing, motivating and counseling employees.

  • Ensures that branch building, maintenance, equipment and supplies is adequate and in proper working condition.

SECONDARY DUTIES

Maintain inventory of supplies and the building maintenance/equipment repair.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A minimum of an Associate’s Degree and 3 to 5 years of related experience or training in a Bank or Branch setting; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
