The Information Technology department is seeking a VMWare Systems Administrator to assist in our continued growth in these areas. This role will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and management of various technologies, including the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining the virtual infrastructure hardware, operating systems, and VMs on servers which support business processing requirements

  • Responsible for supporting client-facing colocation production and disaster recovery infrastructures

  • Maintain reliable, secure and high performing systems in a multi-domain, multi-site Windows Active Directory environment that consists of SQL servers, VMware vCenter 5.5, and Windows 2008/2012 servers

  • Responsible for maintaining the virtual infrastructure hardware, operating systems, and VMs on servers which support business processing requirements

  • Maintain, upgrade, and implement improvements to the VMWare vCenter infrastructure

  • Maintain, upgrade, and implement improvements to the VMWare ESXi infrastructure

  • Maintain VM templates for building servers in the virtual environment

  • Familiar with VMware or 3rd replication utilities used to support Disaster Recovery deployments

  • Proactively monitor event logs for changes or errors and take appropriate actions to resolve issues

  • Manage available virtual and storage resources within the infrastructure environment.

  • Collaborate with team members to resolve problems

  • Perform upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages (i.e., VDI components, Windows services, or other enterprise apps) as necessary

  • Create and maintain system documentation for updates made to the infrastructure environment

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors and 3 years of related experience or 7 years of related experience without a degree

  • Experience with VMWare vCenter 5.x or VMWare vCenter 6.x AND SQL server

  • Experience with VMware vCops reporting to identify performance bottlenecks and to facilitate capacity planning

  • Experience with Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008/2012

  • Knowledge of Windows infrastructure technologies (AD, DNS, MS Clustering)

  • Experience supporting Atlassian products, including Confluence, JIRA, Stash, and BitBucket

  • Experience supporting SAN technologies, including but not limited to EMC VNX, VNXe, Unity and Oracle ZFS/ZS3-2

  • Experience deploying and supporting Linux operating systems, including CentOS and Red Hat within VMware and on standalone Intel based servers

  • Experience supporting Cisco technologies, including IPSec VPN tunnel administration and troubleshooting

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, in order to discuss/document technical information

  • Ability to execute assignments within established timeframes and quality standards, while responding to immediate needs

  • Organized and detail oriented with excellent time management skills

  • Ability to multitask with propensity to handle urgent interruptions with poise and professionalism

  • Provides 24x7x365 support for critical back office and production infrastructure/applications as part of a formal on-call rotation

  • Provides personable, professional IT customer service to internal and external partners
