Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 more years of software engineering or related experience.

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with experience in developing and administering Linux (Centos/RHEL) in a virtualized environment to support our growing Infrastructure Services.
Under the direction of the Director of Cloud Infrastructure Services, the successful candidates will provide architectural direction and implementation for Oracle Public Cloud infrastructure systems management. Participate in, support, and direct the engineering efforts for both the customer facing and corporate cloud data center and infrastructure technologies. Mentor, train, and lead fellow team members and peers through design and implementation decisions to achieve balance between strategic design and tactical needs.
Design and implement architectural roadmaps regarding OPC infrastructure systems management
Develop and implement internal systems, processes, and best practices to be used by other teams designed to increase productivity
Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, and high availability in the cloud
Recommend architecture to meet business requirements
Design, implement, and maintain server, storage, network, and security infrastructure
Design, implement, and test disaster recovery and business continuity architecture
Create and implement automation for cloud platforms as well as monitoring and alerting purposes
Ensure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards
Troubleshoot production issues and respond to after-hours escalations
Verify and resolve configuration and other non-software related issues
Master's degree in computer information sciences or related focus, or equivalent experience
Minimum 15 years of distributed systems experience
Expertise in distributed systems and Cloud infrastructure
Expertise and hands-on experience in Linux operating systems (RHEL/CentOS) including Linux kernels, device drivers and system internals.
Expertise in network architecture, including load-balancing, DNS, IPSec VPNs, and active-active/multi-homed data centers
Expertise in storage design for high availability and disaster recovery
Experience in security best practices and use of Linux IPTables, Firewalls, IPS/IDS, encryption, and incident response
Experience in virtualization technology such as Xen, KVM
Familiar with the interworking of Web applications and relational databases
Hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and support of system monitoring infrastructure such as Graphite, ELK.
Create automated processes using well-known languages and frameworks such as Python, Puppet, and/or Chef
Experience with information systems in a 24/7, real-time environment
Must be detail oriented, organized, and have the ability to multi-task
Ability to demonstrate supportive relationships with peers, clients, partners, and corporate executives
Must be flexible with a can do attitude and have the ability to remain professional under high pressure situations
