The Global Supply Chain Advisor will support the global supplier strategies that leverage the cost structure and technological advantages of global markets. This position will align procurement and logistics strategies to best meet TCE, cost and material flow. This position will interface with Global Supply Chain Management, various groups within Global Manufacturing Organization, as well as the Product Management & Engineering Team stakeholders to champion the transformation to a global supply network and establish a process that facilitates event based management capabilities. The Global Supply Chain Advisor will also be responsible for supplier management, such as NPI and EOL management, escalating critical WW material shortages and addressing process issues related to order fulfillmentRole Responsibilities-Managing the Global Supply Chain to assure material continuity and achieve high standards of operational excellence-Ensure product availability to MRP-Performs short-term and long-term capacity analysis for their commodity-Coordinates global supply with regional procurement and balances available supply against supplier capacity-Performs long-range capacity analysis for their commodity and identifies industry constrained components-Conducts risk analysis of components and escalates when required-Issues program forecast to suppliers on a regular basis-Identifies industry-constrained components for their commodity area of responsibility-Establishing new fulfillment processes with new suppliers and locations based on business requirements-Manage WW allocation of material to satisfy backlog requirements-Manage WW Vendor Excess and Obsolete-Analyze and Develop mitigation plans-Forecast exposure and show ability to work within budget requirements-Manage recovery effort through supply base or secondary channels--Communicate to Sr. Management as required Requirements-Strong supply change management skills-Strong ability to execute demand supply resolution Issues-Strong materials requirement planning analysis skills-Strong capacity planning skills-Strong supplier management skills-5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor?s degree; or 3+ years with a Master?s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent experience Dell is an equal opportunity employer.
