Essential Duties and Responsibilities

provide direct resident care as assigned conduct resident rounds daily initiate corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance of Charge Nurse, Treatment Nurse or Nursing Supervisor identify safety hazards and emergency situations, and initiate corrective action assume personal responsibility for following facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies within the unit assume accountability for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the unit assigned and within his/her span of control review care plans and perform nursing care as outlined perform basic nursing skills as outlined in facility educational program give appropriate care to all residents assigned serve trays and assist with feeders as necessary remove trays make sure all residents are offered nourishment at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. turn and reposition all bed and chair residents every two hour place bedpans, linen, washbasins and soiled linen in proper area take residents to dining room and assist in feeding, if assigned pull up side rails and roll beds down change incontinent residents walk ambulatory residents
