State of Massachusetts Team Manager in Chelsea, Massachusetts

Provide supervision and clear direction for 3 supervisors to ensure the effective delivery of MassHealth programs and services to members. Help lead, support and create a positive/motivating work environment for 3 supervisors and a staff of approximately 34 Benefit Eligibility and Referral Social Workers. Prepare daily schedules and allocate resources as needed. Communicate with various external providers, advocates and members to resolve eligibility questions and assure continuity of services. Manage, track and report statistical data, manage and approve time in SSTA, provide quality assurance and internal productivity status using spreadsheets and database systems. Organize regular meetings with staff. Ensure that all staff correctly and consistently implements all NVRA policies and procedures.

Duties:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong management and leadership skills especially in the Health Care or Human Services field.

• Sound judgment and good analytical skills.

• Ability to build and motivate teams.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong computer and data analysis skills

• Ability to prioritize, balance multiple assignments and adjust to changing circumstances.

• Ability to manage relationships in a high volume unionized environment.

• Ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Special Requirements:

Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s license or the equivalent from another state may be required.

Applicants must have at least (A) five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, financial management, or professional experience in a particular specialty (i.e. scientific, professional, or technical), and (B) of which three years must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Incumbents may be required to have a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s license at a class level specific to assignment.

Substitutions:

I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management, public administration, financial management, or degree related directly to the specialty may be substituted for one year of the required (A) experience.

II. A Graduate or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management, public administration, financial management, or degree related directly to the specialty may be substituted for two years of the required (A) experience.
