Experience in an academic or healthcare setting preferred.Department:Office of Human ResourcesPre-Employment Screening:Criminal, Education, IdentitySchedule:Monday - FridayJob Function:Human Resources Duties & Responsibilities:Reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Compensation, responsible for the overall recruitment process, from sourcing to hire, within assigned departments and/or areas. Actively recruits for 30+ open positions on average, supporting approximately 23 departments within HMS. Partners with hiring manager to develop a customized recruitment strategy and provides advice and recommendations on basic requirements, sourcing, interview strategies and related recruiting efforts in response to management needs. Provides coaching on interview techniques and legal requirements.
Assists in analyzing market and school trends, assesses needs and develops plans to address challenges. Recommends sourcing options, screens candidates; coordinates and facilitates interview process including conducting interviews, debriefing sessions and follow up meetings as necessary; conducts reference checks; coordinates and/or negotiates salary. Acts as information resource for Administrators on employment related issues. Participates in University-wide initiatives. May act as case manager to layoff candidates.
Takes the lead on developing and/or implementing new recruitment projects as assigned by manager. Develops non- exempt and exempt recruiting plans for assigned clients and their specific searches that include proactive and creative outreach utilizing established knowledge of internal and external markets. Engages candidate pools through numerous social networking groups such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Indeed and similar venues. Identifies, establishes and maintains contact with a variety of potential applicant resources including search firms, governmental agencies, college placement centers, trade schools, and related organizations. Represents HMS and/or Longwood at recruiting events.
Understands FLSA and grading structure and partners with compensation analyst, HR consultant and department administration on determination of status and grade level, providing subject matter expertise on similar positions and other relevant factors. Proactively collaborates, advises and problem-solves with manager and colleagues on process, approach and trends to ensure consistency and sharing of best practices.
