Massachusetts Institute of Technology Admissions Counselor in Cambridge, Massachusetts
ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR, Office of Admissions, to serve as an admissions officer, with a primary focus supporting campus visits. Will manage and oversee--under the direction of an assistant director of admissions--on-campus recruitment programs and initiatives and create a welcoming environment for diverse populations; review and select undergraduate applicants with a partial admissions caseload and actively participate in the admissions selection committee; and regularly serve as the primary representation of MIT to campus admissions visitors. Other duties will include several weeks of national and local travel to recruit students and meet with alumni/ae and assisting with other recruitment and yield activities as needed.
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree, outstanding customer service skills, excellent public speaking and communication skills, technology and data analysis skills, and outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills, experience or interest in working with diverse populations, superior judgment and discretion, and a driver’s license. At least one year of experience working in higher education preferred, as are milingual/multilingual abilities. Job #15291-N
Regular evening and weekend work will be required during the academic year, as will several weeks of travel by air annually.
