The Physician Assistant in the Emergency Department manages a broad spectrum of emergency surgical and medical adult patients and performs a wide range of clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of the Emergency attending physician. REQUIREMENTS Interpersonal skills are needed for interacting effectively with physicians, staff, patients and their families. Analytical skills needed for evaluating patients, coordinating treatment plans. Requires MA Physician Assistant's Licensure. Must have graduated from an accredited physician assistant program, and certified by the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Must be NCCPA board certified or board eligible and certified within one year. A minimum of 1 year of emergency department experience is required.
